Hydrocephalus "Water in the brain"
Known medically as hydrocephalus, water in the brain is an abnormal build-up of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the ventricles of the brain. The fluid is often under increased pressure and can compress, and damage the brain causing blindness and even death.
Normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) can also occur due to a gradual blockage of the CSF drainage pathways in the brain. Although the ventricles enlarge, the pressure of the CSF remains within normal range.
